Bio: Mercy is the lead research assistant in the CCDE’s Health Equity Action Lab (HEAL). Currently pursuing an MA/Ph.D. in the UW Department of Communication, she specializes in health communication and uses community-based qualitative methods to explore culturally responsive healthcare interventions and equitable access to care. Her current projects examine postpartum depression support for new mothers and mental health interventions for first responders and veterans. Mercy is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area and previously held a position at the Oakland Museum of California as an audience research and evaluation specialist. She remains passionate about discovering innovative methods to bridge communities with cultural and educational institutions in both her museum and academic work. She aims to foster enhanced accessibility, connectivity, and collaboration in future community-based research projects.
